Kids
Kamp Kanu is offered the last weekend in June through Labor Day. It is a complimentary program offered during the week in the summer months for children ages 3-14. The morning session is for ages 3-10 and runs from 9:30 am to noon and the afternoon session runs from 1 pm to 3:30 pm. Kids will make new friends and explore the indoors and outdoors. Each program is led by highly qualified and trained counselors. The schedule changes daily and offers something for every child and every age. Some activities include relays & races, tag games, obstacle courses, treasure hunts, and more. Indoor activities include arts & crafts, science experiments, storytelling, movies, and Wii. Teens ages 11-14 can participate in a full day program, between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm. The group will adventure off the property and explore the beauty of the Adirondacks while hiking, canoeing, and kayaking.
Adults
As much as it is important for the kids to have fun, it is also important for the adults to have a great time. With the summer camp occupying the kids time, this is your chance to go out and explore and relax. Lake Placid has some of the finest golf courses in the Northeast. Nearby we have three premier courses. Hit the course for a nice relaxing golf game or maybe hit the water for some of the finest fishing in the Adirondacks. Try out Fly Fishing or Reel Fishing, either way, you have a variety of trout and other species to catch. Hike the beautiful Adirondacks or go mountain biking. After all of the exploring relax at Whiteface Spa. The spa combines the rustic beauty of the natural settings with luxurious treatments. Indulge in some you time and take a moment to experience your vacation.
After a long day of activities have a date night at the Kanu Restaurant. To give parents a chance to enjoy an exceptional dining experience, we offer a night program as well for children. The kids will enjoy a pizza dinner and an evening of fun themed activities and games while you have a nice dinner. The Sunset Club program is offered Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the year, and daily during the last weekend in June until Labor Day.
