Monument Falls – The Closest Waterfall to Whiteface Lodge
Just a 12-minute drive from our Adirondacks resort, this stunning five-foot waterfall is one of the best Adirondack waterfalls that features fabulous views of Whiteface mountain—the fifth-tallest peak in Upstate New York. The falls cascade down two slides, one that curtains another that creates a horseshoe slide. From the free car park, walk along the footpath to see a panoramic view of the falls from a guardrail.
High Falls Gorge
High Falls is in a stunning location amongst vast farmlands, just a 17 minutes drive away from our Lake Placid hotel. High Falls is part of High Falls Gorge, a 22-acre nature park featuring four of the best Adirondack waterfalls. With a fabulous view of Whiteface Mountain. View all the waterfalls on pristine walking trails and fantastic viewpoints from steel bridges and walkways for the ultimate experience. The walk takes 30 minutes in total and makes for the most breathtaking of all walks in Adirondack.

Wanika Falls
Wanika Falls is one of the largest Adirondack waterfalls near our Lake Placid resort (17-minute drive) at 150 feet tall. There is a path that leads right to the base of the falls for stunning panoramic views. For a day of hiking, why not try a section of the Northville-Placid Trail, just under 14 miles straight to the base of Wanika falls.
