THE WHITEFACE LODGE TIES FOR 10TH PLACE OUT OF 150 US MAINLAND RESORTS IN
CONDE NAST TRAVELER'S ANNUAL "READER'S CHOICE AWARDS"
1st in Lake Placid, 1st in the Adirondack Area and 1st in New York State
LAKE PLACID, NY (October 12, 2011) – The Whiteface Lodge, Lake Placid announced today that it has tied for 10th place out of a long list of 150 US Mainland Resorts in Conde Nast Traveler’s annual “Reader’s Choice Awards” and in the category of “Best in the World / US Mainland Resorts.” The Whiteface Lodge tied for 10th place with The Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe at a score of 92.9 out of a possible 100 points.
The prestigious accolade ranks the Whiteface Lodge at first place in New York State, first in the Adirondack area overall and first place in Lake Placid. The Lodge’s 2011 ranking was significantly higher than its 2010 placement. Additionally, the Whiteface Lodge was the only Lake Placid resort named in the first 125 listings.

The rankings were based on approximately eight million votes submitted by 28,876 Conde Nast Traveler readers during 2011. The annual competition asks readers to rank their favorite resorts, hotels, islands, airlines, cruise lines and cities around the world via an online poll.
