Features Deep Discounts on Rooms, Food, Beverage and Spa Treatments

LAKE PLACID, NY (December 2011) – Effective immediately, the Whiteface Lodge, Lake Placid, is offering a savvy “Champagne & Ski” package designed to showcase the Lodge’s variety of onsite winter services and amenities, as well as connect guests to Whiteface Mountain, one of the east coast’s premier snow resorts.

If guests choose to book two nights, they will receive one gratis lift ticket each day. If three or more room nights are booked, guests will be treated to a complimentary bottle of champagne— an ideal après ski treat. Prices for a one bedroom suite begin at $495 per night, inclusive of taxes and fees. (One all-day, adult ski lift ticket at Whiteface Mountain is $79 /non-holiday and $84 / holiday, which includes the Christmas holiday timeframe, Martin Luther King Weekend and President’s Day Weekend).

Snow enthusiasts will appreciate the many inclusive services and amenities offered by Whiteface Lodge, such as a daily full American breakfast in Kanu, the resort’s main dining area; a heated indoor/outdoor pool and whirlpool; an onsite three-season ice skating rink with skates provided; nightly s’mores around a roaring bonfire (marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers included); a family room with air hockey, foosball and a regulation two-lane bowling alley; a modern fitness center; snow-shoeing with trails just steps away from the property (snowshoes provided); and more.

Whiteface Mountain features 11 ski lifts and 87 trails, with a current packed powder base ranging from six to 12 inches—some from recent snowfall. It also boasts the highest vertical drop on the east coast and at the same time, offers a variety of terrain to suit skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Equally alluring is Whiteface Mountain’s rich Olympic heritage—it was the site of the 1980 Winter Olympics where the highly respected American ski racer, Phil Mahre, earned a silver medal.
