SEAN FOLEY JOINS THE WHITEFACE LODGE AS DIRECTOR OF FOOD & BEVERAGE

LAKE PLACID, NY (October 2010) – The Whiteface Lodge, Lake Placid, today announced the appointment of Sean Foley as Director of Food and Beverage. Mr. Foley brings an impressive background to his new position, including serving in several senior-level positions at other Lake Placid resorts, hotels and/or restaurants.

In his new position, Mr. Foley will report directly to Phil Anderson, the Lodge’s General Manager. His broad range of responsibilities includes overseeing the Lodge’s robust banquet and catering activities for corporate groups, weddings and special events. Additionally, Mr. Foley will work with the Chef and his team to ensure a continuously inspired seasonal array of offerings are provided in Kanu, the Resort’s main dining area; in the adjacent Kanu Lounge; in the onsite old-fashioned ice cream parlor; and at The Canoe Club, the Lodge’s exclusive lakefront beach area (open only during the summer).

“The Lodge’s culinary program has grown tremendously in the past two years and we believe that Sean is the right person to continue this positive course by applying his strong organizational skills, creativity and management strategies,” said Phil Anderson, General Manager, The Whiteface Lodge. “In 2010, we hosted more weddings than at any other time during the Lodge’s history, requiring a seamless and highly professional catering operation, which we believe Sean will continue to develop and refine.”

Prior to joining the Whiteface Lodge, Mr. Foley was the Food Service Director at The Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa (Stowe, VT). Before that, he served as the Banquet Manager at the Hilton Lake Placid Resort and previously, he was the Food and Beverage Supervisor at The Boathouse Restaurant located in the Crowne Plaza Lake Placid Resort. Mr. Foley received a Bachelor of Arts from the highly respected New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont.
