THE WHITEFACE LODGE INTRODUCES NEW "ADIRONDACK MEETINGS PACKAGE"

Inspires Guests to use Credits for Spa, Food and Other Amenities and Activities

LAKE PLACID, NY (June, 2010) – Ideally situated among the majestic Adirondack Mountains, the Whiteface Lodge is a smart choice for year-round corporate meetings and business conferences. In recognition of its offerings, the Whiteface Lodge is pleased to announce the new “Adirondack Meetings Package,” which showcases its array of meeting spaces, pre-function areas (indoor and outdoor) and sophisticated catering and technical support services.

The new program expertly packages a host of activities and amenities, including accommodations, gratis breakfast and lunch each day, varying sizes of meeting spaces, AM/PM meeting breaks and use of A/V equipment.

With conference capabilities for groups of 10 to 150, the Lodge’s unique spaces easily accommodate a variety of needs. With ample greeting and reception areas, traditional meeting spaces within The Main Lodge include two dedicated event spaces: The Indian Falls Board Room which offers versatile meeting spaces to accommodate groups of 10 to 50 people, and a 54-seat surround-sound theater ideal for lectures, demonstrations and slideshows.

Connected to The Main Lodge, groups are invited to utilize The Clubhouse, which is exclusively dedicated to corporate meetings or business events with an onsite, dedicated kitchen for catered events. The Clubhouse offers a spacious, three-season enclosable porch aptly named Mountain View Terrace as well as The Whispering Pines Room, a 3,800-square-foot meeting space that accommodates groups of 150 and boasts floor-to-ceiling windows featuring breathtaking mountain vistas. The Clubhouse additionally contains a three-story, four-bedroom 3,100 square-foot Presidential Suite, along with five additional multi-bedroom private suites.

During breaks and/or leisure time, meeting and conference guests are encouraged to explore the Lodge’s robust array of complimentary onsite activities, including a series of indoor/outdoor-heated pools; outdoor tennis, paddle and basketball courts; nearby hiking trails; a 56-seat onsite amphitheater; and as well as a nightly s’mores reception staged outdoors around a roaring bonfire.

In keeping with Lake Placid’s rich Olympic heritage, the Whiteface Lodge offers meeting attendees a variety of Olympic themed activities and tours in conjunction with ORDA (Lake Placid’s Olympic Regional Development Authority), which may feature:

  • A scenic gondola ride at Whiteface Mountain, home of the 1980 Winter Games Alpine and Downhill events
  • Entrée to Lake Placid’s “Olympic Center,” a museum showcasing historical memorabilia from the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics
  • Olympic Speed Skating Oval – An opportunity to skate on the same 400-meter track where Eric Heiden won five gold medals at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics

  • The ORDA Bobsled Experience featuring a thrilling half-mile Bobsled Ride at speeds reaching 50 MPH

Other team-building sessions onsite that The Lodge can coordinate include wilderness fitness programs; boating and water sports at The Lodge’s private lakefront Canoe Club; hiking, rock or ice climbing; and skiing excursions. The Lodge’s onsite Family Game Room features billiards, shuffleboard, table tennis and a regulation-sized, two-lane bowling alley. Meeting and business conference attendees will also enjoy The Lodge’s three-season, onsite ice skating rink, nearby snow-shoeing trails (with snow shoes provided) or luxuriating in the Lodge’s onsite 5,800-square foot spa.

The Adirondack Meetings Package is available to groups who book a minimum of ten suites per night. Groups that confirm their reservations before August 31, 2010 additionally receive one complimentary team building activity and/or a gratis one-hour welcome cocktail reception.

Per person pricing is as follows:

  • Single occupancy through June 2010 -- $339.00
  • Double occupancy through June 2010 -- $558.00
  • Single occupancy July - Labor Day 2010 -- $595.00
  • Double occupancy July - Labor Day 2010 -- $990.00

*All rates are per night and are subject to daily applicable taxes. Holiday blackout dates apply

About The Whiteface Lodge

Located in the woodland setting of the High Peaks region of Lake Placid, New York, The Whiteface Lodge is the only all-suite property in the Adirondacks, offering 94 guest accommodations. A 5,800-square-foot Spa, with treatments and services embracing local elements and ingredients, is a favorite spot for guests.

The Whiteface Lodge features four dining areas -- The Kanu Lounge for approachable fare and Kanu, the main dining area. In both venues, guests may enjoy a formal or casual culinary experience, such as tapas, soups, salads and dessert mixed with an entree and a beverage or they may choose a multi-course, wine-pairing lunch or dinner. Featuring old-fashioned decor blended with a wide range of modern ice cream dishes, the Lodge's onsite Ice Cream Parlor was developed to provide tasty treats to guests of all ages. Additionally, select grilled culinary fare, complimented by refreshing beverages, is featured at the property's private Canoe Club, located on Lake Placid. (The Canoe Club is open only during the summer). Recently, the Lodge expanded its culinary services, enabling guests - lounging by the pool, relaxing in the lean-tos, on the outdoor patios or on the terrace - to enjoy tapas, meals and beverages of their choice. The Lodge also provides 24-hour In Room Dining.
