Feb 9thWhite Wine Varieties

This tasting will focus on the different Varieties of Red Wines. Beginning with a discussion of “How to Taste Wine Professionally”. An explanation of why we “Swirl, Smell and Taste” wines. We will be tasting Varieties including Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and two styles of Chardonnay. Food pairings will be brought into the discussion.

Feb 16thPort, Madeira, and Sherry’s

We will explore some of the most unique dessert wines in the world. Guests will experience the range of each style, and shatter the image of Madeira and Sherry as “Cooking Wines”. This tasting will include a sample of Madeira from the 1987 Vintage. Guests will learn and taste the differences between “Tawny” and “Ruby” Ports. A brief discussion of dessert and food pairings will be included.

March 1stBourbons, Whiskey, and Scotch

Etched into history, shrouded with mystery, Whiskeys have taken on different qualities from around the world. Our tasting will cover those produced in America, Scotland and beyond. We will learn about the distilling process, aging process, and profiles of several different styles.

March 8thDessert Wines

These wines are elegant and refreshing. We will look at the history of how Dessert Wines came to be. The range will cover Ice Wines, Sauterne Style, Late Harvest, and others. Typical food pairings will be discussed as well.
